Turkish Ceramics from Ephesus

We love handcrafted ceramics.  But you already knew that!  After all, we have our ceramics from Italy, and our ceramics from Turkey, all found in our For the Home department.

But right now, we want to highlight the Turkish ceramics.  Turkey makes some of the loveliest ceramics around.  People swoon with delight over the fantastic colors: pale to deepest blues, rich reds, golds, organic ivories.

And just as the Italians have traditional designs from various regions, so do the Turks.  One of our favorites of the historical designs is the tulip motif, which is found on everything from plates, to vases, to trivets.  But they also excel in charming, whimsical designs - for example, the very popular fish motif.

And we love this little video we found on YouTube, with the master potter at his wheel. (This potter is in Cappadocia.)
